Organizations have increasingly invested in technology to process vast quantities of data and transform it into information with quality. Research in the last years has produced a large body of information quality knowledge and has expanded our ability to solve many problems about this area. In this article, will be present an overview of the evolution and current landscape of information quality research in the last 16 years. Representative papers will be cited for purposes of illustrating the issues addressed and the methods used. Will be also identified and discussed challenges to be addressed in future research and the contributions of information quality to knowledge organization.
